Reflector Aura and Nature
Reflectors are rarest of the four Types in Human Design System and comprise of roughly 1.5 - 2 % of the population. Mechanically, by uniqueness in their design they have all the Nine Centers undefined. Having all the Centers undefined gives them unique role to play as wise observers. Their Aura is sampling and reflecting . Reflectors sample the environment and energies of others around them to reflect back. The openness in their allows them to blend seamlessly with their environment, reflecting the health and emotional tone of their community or surroundings. Because of this, Reflectors act like mirrors, showing back to others the state of affairs in a way that is deeply insightful and often surprising.
Primarily Reflectors absorb through each of those Open Nine Centers - thoughts, ideas, processing information, emotions of people and the world around them. All of this can be challenging as their Aura is sampling constantly and hence the deconsitioning process is crtitical for their sustaining in today’s world which revolves around instant gratification. All they absorb is not there to stay, hence the term “Teflon” aura is used for Reflectors.
Reflectors need guidance to navigate their true nature and can benefit through learning Human Design System. They have a natural ability to remain unbiased and non-judgmental once they have learnt how to harness this energy and work with their mechanics. They are like the calm in the storm, able to absorb various energies without being easily influenced by them over the long term. This quality makes Reflectors incredibly empathetic and often wise beyond their years, as they carry the collective wisdom of their surroundings within them.
However, this openness also comes with unique challenges. It makes them highly sensitive and vulnerable to changes in environment , people, places and circumstances in their communities or workplace. They may feel overwhelmed by external influences if they are not trained to navigate and release this energy and distinguish between their own and those they absorbed through conditioning externally. They may amplify and reflect the people’s energy around them.
When feeling that “Aha” moment of “Surprise” they feel aligned to their flexible nature and learnt how to navigate by de-conditioning and watching present moment as an Observer. However when feeling “Disappointment”, that is the not-self theme when their mind is being reactive to the environment they have been sampling.
Unique Role in the Human Design System
Reflectors have a special role that is invaluable in any group or community setting. Their unbiased perspective and living in the flow of life with nature enables them to serve as insightful evaluators of the community's well-being. Whether in a work team or family setting, Reflectors provide a clear reflection of the collective state and can be an integral voice for truth and clarity. They often draw attention to dynamics that others might overlook, offering a fresh perspective that can guide significant change and improvement.
They may often be seen as elusive or hard to pin down because they adapt so fluidly to their environments. This adaptability often leads them to be natural travelers in various walks of life, sampling every experience like a buffet of life’s offerings.
In essence, the Reflector's role is to act as both an observer and an evaluator, helping to align the community with its true nature and highest potential. Their wisdom and insights come from their ability to see and feel everything around them without being tied to any particular outcome or influence.
Their theme with this constantly sampling makes them feel surprised when things are working well. However due to their vulnerability and when side tracked with conditioning of our modern culture of aggressive and strategic greed behaviour overpowering our communities, Reflectors may also feel disappointed.
When feeling Disappointment, it is a signal for Reflector that they have got side tracked from their main path of being an Observer with mental overthinking and analysis from the energy they received from their environment. This is a signal to “Let Go” and be in the present moment of decondition and take nature walks or confide in few close friends.
“Disappointment” is the key to recognize Reflectors need to decondition and take time off before getting burnt out or loosing their core vitality.
Hence through continuously sampling, reflecting, discerning and then deconditioning and taking a full lunar cycle to navigate using their Decision Making Strategy - Wait for Lunar Cycle of 28-29 days for major decisions.
